Coronavirus News 17.03.2020

Dear Parents/Carers

Covid-19

I am writing to keep you further updated in regards to the current situation and our school.

Following the latest advice;

  • If a child or anyone in the household has a high temperature and/or a new, continuous coughthen the whole family must self-isolate for 14 days. These will be exceptional circumstances so will not impact attendance.
  • We are also restricting adult admission into school of anyone other than essential staff. This means we cannot invite parents in for assemblies or events.
  • All trips, sporting events etc are now cancelled until further notice.

Work packs are being prepared for each year group to support parents/carers and children at home SHOULD THE SCHOOL CLOSE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.  However, if you have chosen to self-isolate for the 14 days due to illness we can only supply a few activities to keep you going as staff are still teaching classes of children who are attending school and do not have the time to prepare for both.  We have the following resources to use, such as the Oxford Owl reading programme and Timetable rock stars to keep them busy, logins are found in their planners.

Please be advised that that we Will be keeping in touch with all our children during this period of uncertainty (even if we have to close) as part of our Safeguarding duties, so do not be offended if you receive a doorstep visit or phone call from a member of school staff.

On another note, Miss Snowdon is fine for all of those who have asked after her, but has been advised by myself to continue to work from home due to her pregnancy.

Mrs Luxon and Miss Stiles are still absent from school.

Please keep checking the NHS coronavirus website as updates are posted frequently and this is an ever changing situation.

Many thanks for all your support in these challenging circumstances.
