Reading for Enjoyment!

We are very proud of our lovely school library. It was opened by Peter Barron (the Editor of The Northern Echo) in February 2016. We have created a cosy place where you can curl up you’re your favourite book – or discover a brand new one! Each week, children have an opportunity to visit and chill out under the fairy lights or sat on one of our comfy sofas. The children in year 6 are responsible for organising the books and helping the younger pupils to read. We have a massive range of books from classics and adventures to poems and picture books. We even have a poetry section with a fantastic selection of books.

Parents are Welcome…

We want our pupils to enjoy reading and part of that is getting parents to come in and read with them. Ask at the Office when the Library is open this week and you can come in and choose a book to read. You might help win your child a prize if you pop in!

Reading Records and Prizes!

We want children to be reading at home every night for at least 10 minutes. We ask parents to sign their child’s Reading Record at least 3 times a week. Every child who has read for at 3 times a week over the half term gets entered into our special prize draw for a chance to win a brand new book of their choosing.

If your child has lost or forgotten their record you can download it by clicking on the link below:
