Food for Thought Darlington (FFTD) is a newly formed community group, run by volunteers. We rescue surplus food from supermarkets and other local businesses and cook with it to provide delicious hot meals in pop up cafes throughout the town. We also provide clothing and essentials, as well as information and signposting services, to anyone who needs them.
All of our activities are carried out on a non-for-profit, pay as you feel (PAYF) basis. PAYF is intended to remove the financial barrier to those participating in our events – there is no fixed price and no expectation that anyone will pay money for the food, or other aspects of our service. We value people first and encourage everyone to consider getting involved in the project as a volunteer.
To date, we have fed and supported over 700 people in 7 months! Please find further details attached.
We are writing to inform you that we are providing a fortnightly community meal during the summer holidays, to which all parents and children are invited.

·Friday 17th August – Community Fire Station – 4:30 – 6pm
·Friday 31st August – Community Fire Station – 4:30-6pm
